Black & White

The Office Group

2013

As a pop-up, this new co-working space needed to achieve the maximum impact with the lightest of touches. Our monochrome styling – black on the outside, white on the inside – put it on the map in the heart of the Shoreditch conservation area.

Our light-touch refurbishment and fit-out retained the best of the original fabric of the building – textured brickwork, large windows, high ceilings and massive timber beams – by throwing it into relief against a simple palette of newer finishes. This includes plywood, powder-coated metal and grey floor paint.

The dilapidated factories and warehouses of Shoreditch have provided successive generations of arts and creatives a blank canvas on which to make their mark. This new space for The Office Group occupies a Victorian furniture factory on Rivington Street.

"We tasked Buckley Gray Yeoman to create a concept to echo our company’s ethos and the vibrancy of Shoreditch. We are delighted with the results. The Black & White offers workers a choice of areas to work from that best suit their needs in an environment that’s been created to reflect the local urban and energetic culture."
