Our work retains the existing building’s distinctive planting whilst refurbishing the building by using as many of the existing materials as possible and avoiding the need for demolition. The building’s existing reception was hidden, so we improved its legibility and cut back the internal slabs to create a double-height reception. We repurposed defunct fire escapes as new terraces, demonstrating how small interventions can result in big gains for the building’s new users.
